Our School Council consists of seven children, one child from each year group, and is led by Mrs. Chilton (Apple Class Teacher). These representatives are elected by the children and their term of office lasts for half a school year, to give as many children as possible the opportunity to take a turn throughout their school life as possible.
They meet at least once a fortnight and help us to make decisions in the school. They help us to communicate effectively between children, school grown-ups, PTA, governors and home grown-ups.
They form an interview panel when we appoint staff, write important letters for the school, recommend health and safety changes and organise events, for example.
